The Vampires Motorcycle Club originated in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 1950's. Many motorcycle clubs took the names of monsters and images from popular horror fiction at the time. The club grew quite large and spread through the region, but shortly disbanded in the 60's, but Vampire history was alive and well in the local motorcycle set. Several younger riders had heard about the Vampires club and the idea stuck. The current club was re-started in 1993 by the combined forces of a group of local cycle riders and several scooterists who found the long standing Vampires tradition to be of interest and suited their ?ride by night? lifestyle.
